Most Koreans here are very diligent in their skincare; so diligent, in fact, that the routine is something that is implemented early in age, way before we Westerners even think of trying to take any kind of care of our skin (as far as anti-aging goes).

So I was wading through the bulk Refinery29 emails that I STILL receive when I came across one with the subject of “Comfy, breezy dresses that make mornings EASY.” Well, I love comfy, breezy dresses, so I decided to take a gander at the link. Most of the dresses were meh but I came upon this number.

And my heart pitter-pattered with love. Frayed hems? Loose pleats? Long(er) length? Not black? YES!

Then I glanced at the designer name. Rachel Comey.

Damn it. I had to look at the price.

$552.

I can just hear The Skincare Guru’s voice now, “You know I can make that dress, right?” followed by the rustling of old McCall’s patterns.

After the Byungmun Seo show a couple of Fridays ago, my blogger friend Star (also of YouTube fame) and I decided to go out and get drinks. After asking for my recommendation, I said, “Well, the Four Seasons has a guest bartender from San Francisco tonight.”

So, Seoul Fashion Week is officially over! And, whew, was it a doozy! I walked around like a zombie for a good 2 days afterwards, but I had such a good time that I wouldn’t change a thing. Since I didn’t really get a chance to dress up last season, this ended up being a fun experience for me…

The r.shemiste show began at 10AM, so when I arrived at 9:40 I was probably only 75% awake. I knew that I had a long day ahead of me, and while I was excited by it, I also kind of dreaded it.

The r.shemiste show woke me up, though.

On Tuesday night I went to my first show at Dongdaemun Design Plaza: that of Kiok Studios, which has bases in both New York and here in Seoul. I walked in about 15 minutes early, and the place was already a madhouse (for me: this was my first fashion show, so I didn’t know what to expect). After a few minutes of mindless wandering, I finally found my seat. No, really, I found my seat.

Two weeks from yesterday (Friday the 4th), I will be in Tokyo celebrating my birthday weekend at the Grand Hyatt (which, of course, I’ll write about after I return). Making these plans got me thinking about the places I still want to stay at here in South Korea, and, really, I’ve been thinking about this since my last staycation adventures.

When this blog post goes live it will be March here. March in Korea means two things:

1) My birthday is coming up! I’m past the point where I should start lying about my age…totally kidding, I’m okay with turning asjdhkfa.

2) It’s the final stretch to Fashion Week here!
