Hello everyone! Long time, no see!

After being bogged down by sickness and tons of work, I’m finally able to post here for you all, and, boy, is this one a doozy! This post — or these posts…I haven’t quite decided yet — are going to be an undertaking just because I saw and did a good bit!

Finally! After a month of putting it off, the time has finally come…for me to talk about my “epic” 38-hour trip to Tokyo, Japan, for my birthday and for Tokyo Fashion Week.

So, I will talk about my trip to Tokyo eventually, but in the meantime I figured that make a post with what I have now, so…I stayed at the Grand Hyatt in Roppongi Hills!

After the Byungmun Seo show a couple of Fridays ago, my blogger friend Star (also of YouTube fame) and I decided to go out and get drinks. After asking for my recommendation, I said, “Well, the Four Seasons has a guest bartender from San Francisco tonight.”

Two weeks from yesterday (Friday the 4th), I will be in Tokyo celebrating my birthday weekend at the Grand Hyatt (which, of course, I’ll write about after I return). Every time Lauren comes into town, we find ourselves strolling down Garosu-gil (가로수길), one of the trendiest streets in Seoul. When it’s warm, the main avenue is teeming with people: when it’s cold…it’s teeming with people in fashionable outerwear.

Cold winters tend to run many of us ragged, both mentally and physically. If you’re especially located in a place where it snows a lot (with there’s little sunlight), it can totally dampen your mood…well, at least that’s what it does to me. My 4th and final winter in Chicago tore me up to the point where I just had enough. “I can’t do it,” I told one of my friends. “I’m finally tired of being here. Once I finish my thesis, I’m going somewhere else.” That somewhere else was Seoul.
