A couple of days ago, I received a question on one of my Instagram photos from fellow Seoulite Joni Els asking me this:

“What do you think your best ‘fancy hotel in Korea’ experience has been? …[I have] birthday plans so [I] want to have a local, treat yo’self birthday weekend.”

My short answer was pretty immediate, but it did have me thinking about the places I’ve stayed at thus far and how I would rank them. So, without further ado, here is my ranking of the lux hotels I’ve stayed at in Seoul (so far).

Hello, everyone! Recently there was a three-day weekend here in Korea, and I took advantage of the extra day to finally stay at the Grand Hyatt in Seoul!

Yes, after three (!) months of blog silence, I’ve returned! I’d been prepping for a new big job and new (not-so-big) apartment, and it took up most of my time and energy. HOWEVER, in this three-month span, I managed to squeeze in not one, not two, but *three* lux staycations, and my first one was at the Hyatt Regency on the gorgeous Jeju Island!

For the third and final installment of my Four Seasons Seoul series, I’ll talk about the facilities in the hotel: during my stay I visited the spa, the pool and the fitness center. I didn’t spend as much time taking care of myself as I did eating and drinking everything in sight, but I did enough to be able to write a little bit…

So, not only does the Four Seasons hotel in Seoul have stellar accommodations, but they also have great restaurants, too! In addition to the Executive Lounge, I also enjoyed lunch and dinner at Boccalino and Kioku restaurants, respectively. I’ll talk about all three in this post!

So twenty-five minutes after I left work, my taxi arrived at the Four Seasons and I walked into…sleekness.

So, I will talk about my trip to Tokyo eventually, but in the meantime I figured that make a post with what I have now, so…I stayed at the Grand Hyatt in Roppongi Hills!

After an uneventful KTX ride back to Seoul I hopped a cab to my final (holiday) staycation destination. The traffic was awful, as usual, but the cab driver was nice enough…until the confusion set in.

“Go to the Park Hyatt Seoul hotel, please.”

“Okay…[drives for 4-5 minutes]…the Grand Hyatt? On Nam Mountain, right?”

“[sigh]…No…the Park Hyatt Seoul in Gangnam, at Samseong station.”

“Oh…[drives for a few more minutes]…well, I don’t know where that is.”

After spending Christmas at home I began my trek to Busan. I took the KTX, of course, since I wanted to make the most of the 2 days I had there.

One 2.5 hour train ride, one 30-minute bus ride, one ill-timed disembarkation and one unintentional 15-minute walk later, I finally arrived at the Park Hyatt.
