Last month, I had the amazing opportunity to attend a pretty ground-breaking event organized and hosted my best blogger friend Star of 87pages: Seoul’s first-ever k-beauty event for global influencers, also known as the Seoul Blogger Brunch.
If you have seen any of my past blog or IG posts, then you know I don’t really use a lot of Korean skincare products: I like habits, so I’m of the opinion of “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.” I’ve been a long-time fan of brands like Kiehl’s and Elemis (and, more recently, Aesop), and, on top of all of that, I don’t really talk about my skincare routine all that much anymore. However, my girl was busting her behind to put together something so awesome, so there was no way that I wouldn’t be there to support.
The event itself was fantastic: 20+ influencers and eleven brands made for hours of mingling, networking, and tons of product presentation. The brunch was held at Hearth, a cozy restaurant tucked into a side street in the middle of Gangnam. There was a floral theme for the brunch, and Hearth fit this aesthetic to a T. However, I didn’t do so well: after a last-minute outfit snafu, I reverted back to my old grungey skull-loving ways….but I did dye my hair pink, so there’s that.
One of the things that completely took me by surprise was the sheer amount of product. While I knew that we were going to be listening to presentations by the different brands and companies, I wasn’t aware that I would be taking so much home! The sheer breadth of what we influencers were being gifted was awesome (and a teeny bit scary for a skincare simpleton like me). At the end of the day, I was super happy to have been a part of something that I’m sure will only grow from here.
Now, let’s talk brands.
Troiareuke stole my heart the moment I got some samples of their PIT cleansing cream and Hydro Essence, so I was excited to get even more stuff. I can’t wait to get my Troipeel during the Chuseok holidays!
Luna from Tiam recommended the C-Source line to me after I mentioned my desire to up my anti-aging and skin brightening game. This is the first time I’ve used products with such a concentration of Vitamin C, so I’m super pumped about this stuff!
Eunogo is a concierge company for foreigners: they set clients up with one-on-one consultations for a variety of treatments in the high-end spas here in Seoul. I won a free treatment and will get my detox sometime soon!
Lisa of Beauty Bemused fame just launched her company Be Mused Korea, and we influencers were lucky enough to receive product before the official launch!
Seoul Cosmetic Surgery is a company that, in a similar fashion to Eunogo, acts as a middle man between foreign customers and companies that specialize in cosmetic procedures; they work with clinics here such as Banobagi Hospital and Grace Plastic Surgery. Definitely check them out if you’re interested!
As influencers we also got tons of skincare goodies from other brands like Cosrx, Hyggee, Wish Formula, Wishtrend, and Style Korean! Many thanks to Star, co-hosts Mina and Dot, and all of the brands for providing such a great experience!
